What Is Semi-Professional Theater?

Simply put, to a thespian, "semi-professional" means you get paid, but not as much as a professional. The Waterbury Festival Playhouse charter requires that all of our performers be local. "Local" in this case is defined as the distance anyone is will to drive on a regular basis. Some of our participants come from as far south as Rutland, and as far north as Grand Isle. As you can see, we have some pretty dedicated people. We also have some people who were "local" when they started with the Players, but still come back to participate.
